Other IMPORTANT information to help the claim process:

New claims:

There is a question about the amount of time you instruct, etc. This question is geared toward teachers, not classified, and alludes to lesson planning. Classified employees do not (and should not) plan lessons, etc., so answer this question according to what you do as a school worker. If you still are not understanding this question, call the Employment Department.

There is a question about temporary employment; you are not temporary employee if you are a less than 12-month employee. Of course, if the district temporarily employs you, you will answer yes.

There is a question regarding whether you belong to a dispatch union; the answer is no.

Denials:

Once you have applied for unemployment, please check your snail mail often and check your private online account in the Frances system. All information sent to you in the mail is also stored in your Frances online account.

Once in Frances, there is a selection that says… “I want to view letters.” This is where you will find your letters. Each letter sent to you is assigned a unique ID. If you have a question about any letter, you may message those concerns via this online system. Please address each problem with the letter ID associated with your questions.

There is a timeline for an appeal; make sure you appeal promptly. If you do not understand why you were denied, file an appeal.
